What You Can Expect

We believe humans were created to worship and we are at our best when we worship.

Our worship gathering at 10:30 am has been called a "traditional" style of worship but we incorporate creative elements.

We include a Time with Young Disciples in most of our gatherings for children younger than Middle School age.

It is important for us to have our children and young people with us in worship, and we find as many ways as possible to include them, such as lighting candles, reading Scripture, and singing.  Our children and young adults are only not the church of the future; to us, they are the church of the present.   They learn to worship by modeling us, and they can't do that if they are sent away to another part of the building.

Communion is offered on the first Sunday of the month.  The sacrament is open to anyone, including children, who trust in the promises of Jesus Christ in their lives.

Safe and clean nursery space, unstaffed, is available to you during worship for young children.

All of our musical expressions lift our spirits in worship and encourage our participation.  We're not afraid to express our appreciation for their work as God's gift to us.

Special Worship Services

We follow the liturgical calender, which means that we follow the seasons of Advent and Lent. Special communion is held on Christmas Eve and Easter. We also have Ash Wednesday service, Maundy Thursday (with communion), and Good Friday in partnership with our friends from the First Congregational Church of Geneseo. The fourth Sunday of the month is also usually a time for us to engage in a different style of worship, usually more contemporary.

Chancel Choir

The foundation of our music ministry, this group of dedicated singers, high-school age and above, leads our worship music every Sunday except the last Sunday of the month, from September through May.  They especially enrich us with special presentations for All-Music Sunday (May), Lessons and Carols (Advent) and Christmas Eve Candelight Communion.  On a given Sunday, you might find them singing a Latin chant, or it could be old "gospel."

We are blessed with other talented musicians who provide solos or choir accompaniment, as needed.

Audiovisual/Technical Ministry

This ministy has become vital, enabling our worship to become more of what we all need: more experiential, participatory and image-rich.  We're seeking to tap into all the learning styles of our worshipers and the demands of our younger generations.
