Our Pastor

Ryan Landinocroppedresize

Rev. Ryan J. Landino

“Pastor Ryan Landino grew up in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania under the shadow of the original Bethlehem Steel headquarters, where he did track and cross country in his youth, was heavily involved as a youth leader in his home PCUSA church, and was a high school graduation speaker (his first sermon?). He is one of six siblings, and uncle to four (with one more on the way!) all of whom live up and down the East Coast. He got a degree in (Human) Communication Studies from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, where he was one of the Student Associate Directors of the University Honors Program in the area of Program Development and Leadership, picking up skills early on he would use later for ministry. Upon graduating college, he went to Princeton Theological Seminary as one of five recipients of a Presbyterian Leadership Award, which was conditional upon starting the ordination process to become a church pastor. At Princeton Seminary, he got two degrees, a Master of Divinity, and a Master of the Arts in Christian Education. There he also married his college sweetheart and fellow diehard Philadelphia sports fan, Danielle—just weeks before, as it happened, the Philadelphia Phillies won their second World Championship (coincidence?). As a seminary student, Ryan served as intern, then assistant, and then director of the English Ministry (now called Sky Fellowship) of the Taiwanese-American Fellowship Presbyterian Church in New Brunswick, NJ. After graduating, he accepted his first ordained call to be the pastor at the Calvin Presbyterian Church in Linden, NJ, a Slovak-immigrant church about twenty miles outside of New York City, where he served for five years. In 2014, Ryan was a commissioner to the 221st PCUSA General Assembly and cares deeply about the PCUSA church. Starting as pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Geneseo is his first time living in the Midwest, which is comfortably familiar to much of the farmland of Eastern Pennsylvania where he and his wife grew up. He looks forward to making Geneseo his new home with his wife and two dogs. In his spare time, Pastor Ryan enjoys seeing new places, trying new restaurants, and going on continuing education conferences, and he enjoys spending downtime with videogames, movies, and comic books. Though several generations removed, he is ½ German, ¼ Scottish, and ¼ Italian, with ancestors from both northern and southern US.”
